Biography
“Robert has always had an interest in music, ever since he was very young. However, his passion for composing began when he first heard the works of James Newton Howard. He had never really considered how important music was in complementing a visual experience, and from then on, he would listen and analyze the soundtracks from different composers and how they were utilized in different films. It was then that Robert decided to become a composer.
Robert graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.M. in Music Composition as well as Experimental Music & Digital Media. He has composed many different styles, including chamber music, large ensemble, andelectro-acoustic. In his music, he envisions motion and still pictures to establish his themes and settings. By exploring different parameters such as texture, timbre, and form, Robert crafts his music to tell
an audible narrative.
His works have been submitted to local, regional, and international arenas such as the LSU Call for Scores for Wind Ensemble with his piece “Elysian Stairway,” the Electric LaTex with his fixed media piece “Interstellar Invigoration,” and the Score Relief Film Composer Competition in the UK with his short film score titled “Spring Fling.”
Robert has many projects forthcoming that include traditional concert hall music for large ensembles, soundtrack music for various media platforms, and general production involving multiple collaborators.
Due to his interest in various mediums, Robert is always working on something exciting. He loves being able to tell stories with music. He loves expressing emotion for others to enjoy. But most sincerely, he loves his job as a composer!”
